Delhi Police has arrested Sahil Kataria, a passenger in the incident of beating up the pilot of the Indigo flight in Delhi. The beating of the passenger came after he was informed that the departure of the flight would be delayed by thirteen hours due to heavy fog. What angered the passenger was that the pilot informed him that the flight would be delayed after all the passengers had boarded the plane.
After the video of the incident surfaced, Delhi Police arrested Kataria after issuing a notice under Section 41 CrPC. He was later released on bail. Sahil Kataria was taken into police custody based on the complaint filed by Indigo pilot Anoop Kumar who was assaulted. Footage of him being taken into custody from the plane was also released.
IndiGo formed an internal committee to probe the incident. It is reported that strict action may be taken against the passenger including travel ban.
