Srinagar: India is strengthening its military presence in the border areas. The Army has decided to add 10,000 more troops to the border. The move comes as Chinese troops prepare to withdraw from the Depsang Valley on the eastern Ladakh border.
As India’s airbase is located in the Daulat Bagh Aldi (DBO) region, there are indications that China may not be ready to withdraw easily from Depsang. China is also seeking incursions across the border.
In addition to the dips, the conflict continues in Hot Springs and Gogra. There was no positive response from the Chinese side to the withdrawal from the Depsang during the 11th round of military talks on the border yesterday.
