Rajkot: A huge fire broke out in the gaming zone in Rajkot, Gujarat. About 24 people died. There are reports that 15 of the dead are children and many more are trapped inside the building. The incident took place on Saturday evening at TRP Game Zone. Efforts to put out the fire are ongoing. The Gujarat government has ordered an inquiry. The fire broke out in the temporarily constructed gaming center. It is reported that the accident was due to an explosion in the AC.
Rajkot Police Commissioner Raju Bhargava said DNA tests would be required as the bodies were burnt beyond recognition. He said that the gaming zone is owned by a person named Yuvraj Singh Solanki and a case will be filed against him. Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel said that the death toll can only be known after the rescue operation is completed and priority should be given to arrangements for providing emergency treatment to the injured.
