Uttarakhand: Heavy rains are expected in Uttarakhand tomorrow. Red Alert announced. The Central Meteorological Department has forecast that the rains will continue till the next day. Schools in the state will be closed tomorrow due to the possibility of heavy rains.
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhomi has requested the pilgrims to postpone the Chardham Yatra for two days. Based on the warning, trekking into the forest area Nanda Devi, which is part of the Biosphere Reserve has been banned.
Pilgrims were also directed to move to a safer place to visit the Badrinath Temple. The government has directed them to return to Joshimath and Pandkeshwar until the weather improves.
