New Delhi: The death toll in three days of heavy rains in Uttarakhand has risen to 16. Three Nepalese nationals living in tents in the Pauri district have been reported killed in a landslide. A red alert was declared in Uttarakhand yesterday. The state government has advised people not to come to the state until the situation calms down.
The state government has said that no one should come to the state for tourism. The government had yesterday transferred 2,000 pilgrims to safer places. The Met Office has forecast heavy rains in South Bengal and western Uttar Pradesh. The government has also asked those stranded on the roads to Nainital to return home.
