New Delhi: The Meteorological Department has warned of new heat waves in the northwestern and central parts of the country. In the northwestern part, the maximum temperature is likely to rise to 2–3 C for the next 48 hours. In most places, the maximum temperature was recorded above normal yesterday. Gurugram in Haryana recorded 44.7 degrees Celsius, Bathinda in Punjab 44 degrees Celsius and Amritsar 41.2 degrees Celsius.
