Beijing: At least 18 people killed in a gas leak in a Chinese mine. The incident happened in China’s southwestern city of Chongqing.
According to reports, 24 people were trapped in the mine.
Carbon monoxide gas at the Diaoshuidong coal mine leaked, reports added. The mishap was occurred at about 5 p.m. This is the region’s second such accident in just over two months.
At least 16 deaths were reported in late September after high levels of carbon monoxide trapped miners at the Songzao coal mine in Chongqing.
