New Delhi: Fousiya Hassan, a native of Mali, who was acquitted in the ISRO spy case, passed away. The film actress was also an officer in the Maldives National Film Censor Board.
Fauzia was born on January 8, 1942. Educated at Mali Aminiya School and Colombo Polytechnic (Sri Lanka). In 1957, she started her career as a clerk in the Maldives Ministry of Foreign Affairs. From 1998 to 2008, she was the Censoring Officer at the National Film Censor Board of Maldives. He has acted in about 100 films.
She was imprisoned from November 1994 to December 1997 in the ISRO espionage case. Fauzia Hassan was the second accused in the case of leaking the secrets of ISRO. The first accused is Maryam Rasheeda, a native of Mali. Later CBI investigation found that the case was fabricated.
