New Delhi: The Union Health Secretary has directed the states to close the districts with TPR rates above 10 per cent in the country. The Center has asked 10 states, including Kerala, to tighten controls. In 46 districts of the country, TPR is more than 10 per cent. Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan has directed that these districts be closed. He added that care should be taken not to spread to neighboring states. Covid, meanwhile, confirmed 40, 134 more in the country. 422 deaths were confirmed within 24 hours. The TPR is 2.81 percent.
The R factor, which indicates the prevalence of covid in the country, has come down to one. This is a situation where the disease spreads from 100 patients to 100 others. The rise of the R factor in the wake of the covid Third Wave has raised concerns. “There is a need to strengthen the defenses,”AIIMS chief Randeep Guleria said. The R factor of chickenpox virus is eight. That means up to eight people can be infected from one infected person.
The delta variant of the same nature is also extremely pervasive. Gularia added that the second wave was caused by the rapid spread of the virus and the intense proliferation of the Delta.
