New Delhi: UGC recommends the completion of degree and PG admissions by September 30. The UGC has made this clear in its new guidelines for the next academic year. Degree and PG admission should be completed by September 30 and classes should start on October 1. Admission to vacant seats is open until October 31.
Degree admission can be started only after the completion of the State Board, CBSE, ICSE, and the declaration of results. The UGC also suggested that in case of any delay in the release of Class XII results, arrangements should be made to start the study on October 18. There is also a suggestion that the cancellation fee should not be charged until October 31 in view of the covid situation.
After that, if the application is withdrawn, a maximum of Rs 1,000 will be charged as a processing fee till December 31. The UGC guidelines also state that examination certificates can be accepted till December 31. It is also proposed to complete the final year and semester examinations by August 31.
