New Delhi: The Union Health Ministry has said that the Covid test positivity rate is more than 15 per cent in 24 states of the country. Covid prevalence is high in nine states, including Kerala, Karnataka and Uttar Pradesh. At the same time, the central government has said that the spread of the disease is declining in Maharashtra and Delhi.
Kozhikode, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Malappuram, Thiruvananthapuram, Kottayam, Alappuzha, Palakkad, Kollam and Kannur districts saw an increase in Covid cases in two weeks. The Ministry of Health said that the spread in Mumbai could be stopped.
Assessing that the Kumbh Mela in March has the potential to become the biggest super-spreader in the history of the Covid epidemic. The Dean of the University of Brown said that the Aquarius, which did not meet social distance or other security standards, would be the main reason for the spread of the virus across the country.
