New Delhi: The Union Health Ministry has said that Covid’s death has crossed one lakh in the country. The number of infected people has crossed 64 lakhs.
It took 204 days for the number of deaths due to the disease to reach one lakh. The first recorded death was on March 13 at the age of 76.
COVID confirmed 79,476 people in 24 hours, according to the latest figures. During the same period, 1,069 people lost their lives. The total number of cases in India is 64,73,544. The death toll rose to 1,00,842. One month ago, the number of COVID deaths in India was 67,376. That has now risen to one lakh.
Currently, 9,44,996 people are suffering from the disease and seeking treatment. 54,27,706 people were discharged from the hospital. According to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the cure rate has risen to 83.84 percent, while the death rate has dropped to 1.56 percent.
