New Delhi: Amid rising number of Covid victims in the country, another lockdown in Delhi. Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has said that the lockdown will be from today till April 26. Restrictions will remain in place from 10 pm tonight until 5 am next Monday. The decision was taken at a meeting attended by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, LG Anil Baijal, Delhi Police Commissioner SN Srivastava, Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, and Health Minister Satyendra Jain.
Meanwhile, a curfew was announced last week to curb the spread of the virus. The state registered 25,462 new Covid cases. At the same time, the positive rate rose to 29.74 percent. 161 people have died in the last 24 hours. As the situation worsens every hour, Kejriwal has written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal asking them to increase bed capacity in central government hospitals and ensure uninterrupted supply of medical oxygen.
