Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge cast their votes in the election for the post of Congress president. Both voted in Karnataka. Earlier, President Sonia Gandhi, former Prime Minister, and Congress leader Manmohan Singh, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Bagel, former Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, party general secretary Priyanka Gandhi and others had cast their votes.
Rahul Gandhi cast his vote at the polling booth set up at the Bharat Jodo Yatra campsite in Sanganakallu, Ballari. The Congress has shared pictures of Rahul Gandhi standing in a queue and casting his vote along with Bengaluru Rural MP DK Suresh. About 40 fellow travelers who are PCC representatives will cast their votes at the campsite. Kharge reached the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee office in Bengaluru and cast his vote.
State Congress President DK Shivakumar and Leader of Opposition in Karnataka Assembly Siddaramaiah cast their votes at the KPCC office in Bengaluru. Polling for the post of president continues at the Congress headquarters in Delhi and the offices of state Congress committees across the country. Voting started at 10 am and will continue till 4 pm.
