New Delhi: Though the government has not moved for a nationwide shutdown to prevent a second wave of covid, 27 states, and territories, have imposed statewide lockdown to prevent the epidemic. Some states have extended the full lockdown period previously imposed as the severity of the covid outbreak has not abated.

Currently, 71.75 percent of the daily number of covid patients are from Maharashtra, Karnataka, and Delhi. The daily number of patients in Maharashtra was 56,578 and in Karnataka, it was 47,563. The list of ten states is followed by Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, West Bengal, Rajasthan, and Haryana.

The restrictions currently in place by the States and Union Territories are:

Kerala: Lockdown from May 8 to 16.
New Delhi: The lockdown in the national capital has been extended from April 19 to May 17.
Uttar Pradesh: Curfew and lockdown-like restrictions till May 17.
Haryana: May 3 to 7 in lockdown. It was later extended to May 17.
Bihar: A lockdown has been imposed from May 4 till May 15.
Odisha: A fourteen-day lockdown from May 5 to 19.
Rajasthan: Lockdown from today till the 24th.
Jharkhand: Covid restrictions till May 13. The restrictions were first imposed on April 22 as Health Care Week.
Chhattisgarh: State in lockdown. District Collectors have the power to extend it till May 15.
Punjab: Weekend lockdown and night curfew till May 15.
Madhya Pradesh: Janata curfew till May 15. Permission for essential items only.
Gujarat: Night curfew from 8 pm to 6 am. Daytime control in thirty-six cities.
Maharashtra: Similar restrictions were imposed on lockdown on April 5. It was later extended to May 15. Local lockdown in districts like Latur and Solapur. Strict control in Amravati, Akola, and Yavatmal.
Goa: Curfew from May 9 to May 24. A four-day lockdown was announced on Monday, except for a few tourist attractions.
West Bengal: Strict restrictions on all gatherings from last week.
Assam: The night curfew was lifted from 8 pm to 6 pm. The group has been banned from joining public places since Wednesday.
Nagaland: Partial lockdown from April 30 to May 14 with strict restrictions.
Mizoram: May 10 to 17 in a complete lockdown.
Arunachal Pradesh: Curfew will be in place overnight from Saturday.
Manipur: Curfew will be imposed in seven districts from May 8 to 17.
Sikkim: Restriction similar to lockdown till May 16.
Jammu and Kashmir: Lockdown-like control to date.
Uttarakhand: Curfew will be tightened from tomorrow till May 18.
Himachal Pradesh: Lockdown from May 7 to 16.
Tamil Nadu: Lockdown from today till May 24.
Pondicherry: The lockdown from May 10 has been extended to May 24.
