New Delhi: The Central government has revised the guidelines for international travelers in the wake of the decline of covid. The requirement for foreigners to stay in the compulsory quarantine for seven days was waived.
The list of risk countries has been omitted. It was imposed in the wake of the spread of the Omicron variant. The new recommendation is to stay in self-monitoring for 14 days if you have symptoms, instead of the requirement of seven days’ compulsory quarantine. The new guidelines will come into effect from Monday, the Union Health Ministry said.
According to the new guidelines, all foreigners are required to fill up a self-declaration form online, including travel information for the past 14 days. The form is available on the Air Convenience web portal.
RTPCR Negative Certificate made within 72 hours of travel date must also be uploaded. Alternatively, a certificate of receipt of the two-dose vaccine may be required. The Ministry has published a list of 72 countries where the vaccine certificate is accepted.
Those who show symptoms upon arrival at the airport will be transferred to the hospital. Those under the age of five are exempted from pre-and post-trip checks. However, they should also be tested for symptoms.
