New Delhi: The government is likely to decide on June 1 regarding the conduct of the CBSE Class XII examination. Although there was no consensus at the high-level meeting held yesterday, the unofficial understanding was to conduct the examination itself.
However, the CBSE has said that the exams will be held between July 15 and August 26. CBSE said the results would be released in September. The central government has to take the final decision in this regard.
At a meeting yesterday, a majority of states agreed to hold the exam. Only Maharashtra has demanded the cancellation of the exam. Delhi and Kerala have demanded that children be vaccinated before exams. The government has asked the states to give instructions on how to conduct the exams by Tuesday.
