BJP announces candidates for assembly by-elections. The BJP has announced the 32 candidates for the by-election after the crucial central election committee meeting convened by the BJP. The by-election will be held on October 21 in Himachal Pradesh, Sikkim, Punjab, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Meghalaya, Odisha, Rajasthan, and Telangana.
Uttar Pradesh has ten assembly seats in the by-elections held in 13 states. There are five constituencies in Kerala and four in Assam. The party also announced candidates for the by-election in five constituencies. The candidates for BJP are decided as S Suresh in Vattiyoorkavu and K Surendran as BJP state general secretary in Konni. Rajendra Shanthi’s of Manjeswaram, C G Rajagopal of Ernakulam and K P Prakash Babu of Aroor will contest.
Elections are being held for the two vacant constituencies in Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Sikkim, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Meghalaya, Odisha, Rajasthan, and Telangana. The by-elections for the October 21 assembly polls will be held in 51 assembly seats along with the Maharashtra and Haryana Assembly elections. Candidates for the remaining seats will be announced soon, the party said in a press release. The party is in the background of the Maharashtra-Haryana assembly elections. BJP President Amit Shah and Working President JP Nadda arrived in New Delhi to attend the meeting.
