Mumbai: Preliminary investigation report on the explosion of the naval warship INS Ranveer has been released. The explosion was not with weapons or ammunition. The explosion took place in the empty AC compartment of the ship.
The preliminary investigation report also said that the Freon gas leak was the cause of the accident. Colaba police have registered a case of accidental death. An investigation has been launched into the incident.
The victims were from the upper mezzanine of the AC plant. Three people were killed and 11 were injured in the crash. Master Chief Petty Officer Krishnan Kumar, Master Chief Petty Officer Surendra Kumar, and Chief Petty Officer AK Singh were killed. The condition of the injured is not serious.
