New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has announced 13 candidates for the Karnataka Assembly by-election next month. The Congress and Janata Dal (Secular) MLAs who were disqualified by the Speaker during the last government are on the list of candidates. The BJP has not yet announced its candidates for the two seats. The Supreme Court today upheld the action of the then speaker disqualifying 17 MLAs. But they are eligible to contest the by-elections. The BJP could win a majority if it wins at least six of the 15 by-elections. The counting of votes will take place on the 9th of next month. The election proceedings of the two constituencies have been postponed due to the case.
