Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi summoned. The notice was issued by the District Court of Uttar Pradesh, Bareilly. The instruction in the notice is to be produced on January 7. The action was taken in a case filed by Pankaj Pathak, a Hindu organization leader.
The court’s action was filed against Rahul Gandhi’s statement that if the India coalition comes to power, it will implement a socio-economic survey that will allocate wealth, jobs and welfare schemes in proportion to the population of each community. Congress leader Udit Raj responded that the notice was sent in vain and those who sent the notice are not eligible for that position.
Rahul Gandhi said during the Lok Sabha election campaign in Hyderabad that if the Congress comes to power, apart from the caste census, an economic and institutional survey will be conducted to find out the distribution of wealth among the people of the country. Rahul’s remarks drew criticism from both the BJP and its allies.
