Floods in Assam are extremely severe. 16 lakh people are affected by floods in 29 districts. This year, the number of deaths due to floods, storms and landslides has reached 56. 4 lakh people have been shifted to relief camps. 2800 villages were submerged. 42476 hectares of agricultural land has been destroyed. 31 wild animals died in the flood in Kaziranga National Park.
Brahmaputra river water level remains above danger level. The Central Meteorological Department has warned that heavy rain will continue in Uttarakhand, Bihar, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, West Bengal, Manipur and Mizoram
