Lucknow: An Indian embassy official has been arrested in Uttar Pradesh for engaging in anti-national activities with Pakistan’s spy agency ISI. Satyendra Siwal, who worked at the Indian Embassy in Moscow, was arrested. The Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of External Affairs said that he was leaking India’s secret information. He was arrested in Meerut by UP ATS, the anti-terrorist squad of Uttar Pradesh Police.
The arrest was made following intelligence received by the ATS that Pakistan’s intelligence agency ISI was luring employees of the Ministry of External Affairs by paying them to obtain strategically important information related to the Indian Army.
He is also reported to be an important link in Pakistan’s spy agency. It is indicated that he has leaked many confidential documents of the Ministry of External Affairs and the Ministry of Defense by misusing his position in the Indian Embassy. The accused confessed to the crime during interrogation. From 2021, he was working as India Based Security Assistant (IBSA) at the Embassy in Moscow.
