Bhatinda: An Army jawan was killed in an accidental firing from a gun in Bhatinda, Punjab. The incident happened last night.
A jawan named Laghu Raj Shankar died while on guard duty. The soldier was rushed to the military hospital immediately after being shot, but his life could not be saved.
He returned to the camp after his leave on April 11. Bhatinda Police Station SHO Gurdeep Singh said that the preliminary conclusion is that the soldier committed suicide.
Army sources said the soldier’s death was unrelated to the firing that killed four soldiers yesterday at the army base in Bhatinda.
