Chennai: A student was gang-raped in Chennai. An engineering student of Anna University was raped. On Wednesday morning, two unidentified men dragged the girl and brutally gang-raped her inside the campus.
The girl and her friend were sitting and talking on the campus after attending the Christmas prayer at the church. Preliminary investigation revealed that at this time, two men approached them and attacked their friend, dragged the girl into the bush and then sexually assaulted her.
Police sources said that they are checking the CCTV footage inside the campus to find out whether the assailants are students inside the campus or outsiders. The Koturpuram police registered a case under Section 64 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Samhita (BNS) in the incident.
