New Delhi: Departments of ministers in the third NDA government have been announced. Amit Shah as Home Minister and Rajnath Singh as Defense Minister. Jaishankar will continue as External Affairs Minister and Nitin Gadkari as Transport Minister. The decision in the departments was made in the first cabinet meeting of the NDA government. Shivraj Singh Chouhan, who will be a member of the Union Cabinet for the first time, will handle the Department of Agriculture and Rural Immigration.
Hardeep Puri- Petroleum, JP Nadda- Health, Manohar Lal Khattar- Energy, Urban Development, Ram Mohan Naidu- Aviation, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat- Tourism, Culture, Kiren Rijiju- Parliamentary Affairs, Minority Welfare, Piyush Goyal- Commerce, Ashwini Vaishnav- Railways, Communications, Prahlad Joshi – Department of Food, Kumaraswamy- Steel and Mining, Jitan Ram Manchi- Small and Medium Industries and Jyotiraditya Scindia- Telecom will be handled.
Ajay Tamta and Harsha Malhotra will be Ministers of State for Surface Transport. Shobha Karantalaje- Small and Medium Industries (Minister of State), Suresh Gopi- Culture, Tourism, Petroleum (Minister of State), Sripadnaik- Energy (Minister of State), George Kurien- Minority Welfare, Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairy Development (Minister of State)
71 people including 30 Cabinet Ministers, 5 Associate Ministers with independent charge and 36 Ministers of State took oath on Monday. Suresh Gopi and George Kurien were sworn in as Ministers of State from Kerala.
