Ahammadabad: All 26 accused in the 2002 Gujarat riots case were acquitted. The action belongs to the Panchmahal Additional Sessions Court. The court acquitted the accused in cases including gang rape and mass murder in the Gujarat riots. The court acquitted the accused due to a lack of evidence. Additional Sessions Judge Leelabhai Chudasama said in the court order that there was insufficient evidence to prove the crime against the accused and 13 accused died during the trial.
The court acquitted 26 accused in the case of gang rape and murder of more than 12 people in separate incidents in Kalol, Gujarat. There were 39 people on the accused list. 13 of them died during the trial.
