New Delhi: Airfares will go up from April 1 next financial year. This is because the Directorate General of Civil Aviation has increased air safety fees. This will increase ticket prices for international and domestic flights.

The DGCA said in a statement that the increase was Rs 200 for domestic passengers and Rs 879 for international passengers.
Covid had significantly affected 19 international airlines. It is in this context that the decision to increase aviation safety rates was taken. The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) is responsible for air travel and airport security.
The ruling does not apply to children under the age of two, diplomatic security personnel, airline staff on duty, and those traveling as part of the UN peacekeeping force.
