New Delhi: The third wave of Covid in the country is inevitable, says AIIMS chief Dr. Randeep Guleria. The AIIMS chief warned that there would be a third wave in the country in the next six to eight weeks. The AIIMS chief’s response came after weeks of lockdown, with various states announcing exemptions.
When concessions are not announced, people do not behave according to the circumstances. People gather. People don’t seem to have learned anything from one or two waves of Covid. Guleria said it would take time for the number of cases to rise nationally.
In the second wave, there was a shortage of medical facilities and equipment in the country. Foreign countries had come forward to offer help to India. Now there is a decrease in daily Covid figures. However, the AIIMS chief said there was a need for caution in the third wave.
