Bhopal: Nine children died when a temple wall collapsed in Madhya Pradesh’s Sagar district. It is also reported that many people were injured. Rescue operations were carried out by police and local residents and the injured children were rushed to the hospital but could not be saved.
The accident occurred during a religious ceremony at the Hardaul Baba temple on Sunday morning when children were making a Shiva lingam out of mud. Many children participated in the program as it was a holiday. A bulldozer was used to pull out the children trapped in the debris. The district administration and police officials reached the spot and took the bodies of the children to the Sagar district hospital for post-mortem.
Chief Minister Mohan Yadav announced that the families of the deceased children will be given financial assistance of Rs. 4 Lakh. This incident happened shortly after four children died when the wall of the building collapsed while they were returning home from school in Madhya Pradesh’s Rewa district.
