Mumbai: A large gang making fake currencies has been arrested in Mumbai. Mumbai police have nabbed a group of people who were printing and distributing counterfeit notes in inter-state states. Seven people were arrested in connection with the case. Seven crore fake currencies were also seized. The Mumbai Crime Branch unit raided the Dahisar check post in the suburbs on the basis of confidential information and nabbed the gang.
There were four people in the group who got into the car. Counterfeit notes were seized in 250 bundles of Rs 2,000. The interrogation of the occupants of the car also yielded information about three assistants. Police later raided a hotel in suburban Andheri and arrested three more people. According to officials, 100 bundles of Rs 2,000 worth Rs 2 crore were recovered from them. Police also seized a laptop, seven mobile phones, genuine currency worth Rs 28,170, Aadhaar, PAN cards, and driving licenses.
