New Delhi: India-China border talks begin in New Delhi. The 22nd meeting of the Indian and Chinese Special Representatives was held in New Delhi to discuss border issues. The meeting will also discuss bilateral and international issues of mutual interest. Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Jangshuang said in Beijing that many bilateral and international issues will be discussed, including border determination and border management.
The Indian delegation is headed by National Security Advisor, Ajit Doval. Foreign Minister Wang Yi leads the Chinese delegation. This is the first representative meeting between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping after an informal summit in Mamallapuram in October.
At the 21st Delegation level meeting in Chengdu, China last year, it was decided to intensify efforts to resolve border disputes. The Special Representative Delegation is a high-level forum to discuss other fundamental issues of mutual interest while addressing the border issue.
