Kochi: The High Court granted interim bail to director Omar Lulu in the rape case. The interim bail was granted by a bench headed by Justice A Nasruddin. The petition was adjourned to June 6 for detailed hearing.
Omar Lulu stated in the court that his relationship with the actress was consensual. The Nedumbassery police registered a case against Omar Lulu on the complaint of the young actress. According to the complaint, the actress said Omar Lulu raped her several times saying that he would give her a chance in the film. The young actress, who has settled permanently in Kochi, approached the police with a complaint against director Omar Lulu.
At the same time, Omar Lulu had earlier stated that he had a close friendship with the actress. He has traveled to various places with the young woman. But he had said that after he left the friendship, she became personally enmity towards him and he suspected that this was behind the complaint.
