Kochi: Gold prices fell sharply after the central budget. A decrease of Rs. 2000 has been recorded in the state. 51,960 per sovereign gold. Before the Budget, the price of gold had fallen by Rs.200 in the morning. 2000 rupees less after this. 275 to Rs 6,495 per gram. Sovereign gold price was Rs 53960 in the morning.
In the Budget, the Finance Minister had reduced the basic import duty on gold and silver from 10 per cent to 6 per cent. This was reflected in the price of gold. Customs duty on platinum has also been reduced by 6.4 percent.
On July 17, gold prices touched a monthly high of Rs 55,000. On May 20, gold touched Rs 55,120 for the first time in history.
