Floods continue in Assam. The death toll from floods, landslides and lightning has risen to 109. About 6 lakh people in 17 districts are in flood distress. The water level in the Brahmaputra river remains above the danger level. The Assam Disaster Management Authority has informed that water has started receding in some areas.
Bihar and Uttar Pradesh continue to experience a similar flood situation. Around 100 houses were submerged in Muzaffarpur after the Bagmati river overflowed its banks. 9 more people lost their lives in Uttar Pradesh. Around 1300 villages are isolated due to flooding. Intermittent rain is continuing in Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh.
