New Delhi: The Center has banned 43 more mobile apps in the country in the name of sovereignty, defense, security, and law. The apps were banned by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology. The ban is under Section 69A of the IT Act.
Earlier, the central government had banned Chinese apps like Pabji, Tik Tok, and UC Browser in two phases. 59 Chinese apps were first banned in India. India launches a digital strike after a Chinese provocation in Ladakh Officials said the apps violated central government security standards and consumer privacy. Then on September 2, 118 more apps were banned. With this, the number of apps banned by India has increased to 220. The app, which is owned by Chinese business giant Alibaba, is also banned.
