Chennai: The High Court has ordered the acquisition of the Satangulam police station in Tamil Nadu where custody deaths have taken place. The Madras High Court directed to the District Collector of Tuticorin. The Madras High Court’s Madurai Bench issued the order. But there are more reports of more custodial deaths happened at the station.
Two men who were taken into custody for allegedly delaying close the shops in the lockdown were beaten to death by the Satangulam police station.
The Tamil Nadu government has decided to leave the case to the CBI. Three policemen have been suspended in the incident. Massive protests are taking place at Tuticorin.
