New Delhi: The Central Government has expressed its dissatisfaction with Twitter for not following the directive. In a warning to Twitter, the Union IT secretary said that a company operating in India has more obligation to follow the law of the land than its laws.
In an online meeting with Twitter representatives, the IT secretary demanded that all the suggested accounts be canceled immediately. During the meeting, the IT secretary said that the hashtag ‘farmer genocide’ was not used for freedom of expression or freedom of the press. “Twitter wants to continue to operate in India and the company respects the rules,” he said.
