Vistara flight UK971 received a bomb threat from an unknown person at IGI Airport and all the passengers and crew members of the flight were immediately deboarded.
A call from the GMR call center shocked the entire nation, flight UK971 of Vistara received a bomb threat from an unidentified person at Indira Gandhi International Airport. At approximately 7:30 am on Friday, the airport call center received a call from an individual who reported that “three explosive devices have been placed aboard flight UK971, which is currently stationed at gate 42, and are set to detonate within an hour.” According to official sources, the call was immediately disconnected and the caller remain unknown.
Notwithstanding, police authorities have declared the conclusion of the search operation and have not discovered any dubious items. The scheduled departure time for the flight was 8:30 am. “A legal case is being registered and an additional investigation is currently in progress.” As per reports from PTI, Vistara has issued an official statement stating that the delay of flight UK971 was caused by mandatory security checks.
The flight was supposed to start from Delhi and end at Pune but due to the bomb threat, the take-off was called off. In accordance with the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP), scheduling of the aircraft is contingent upon clearance and approval from the security agencies. The departure of the flight to its destination (Pune) will occur promptly upon receipt of final clearance from the security agencies.
Subsequently, the aircraft was subjected to isolation for a thorough examination by security agencies. An official has confirmed that no suspicious item was discovered on board. The flight was originally slated for departure at 8:30 am. The aircraft was having nearly one hundred passengers, and after the bomb threat, everyone including the crew with their luggage was offloaded. As per the official, the passengers were taken safely to the terminal building and have been provided with refreshments.
