Rohit Sharma and Ajit Agarkar announced the team of 15 players to represent India at the World Cup 2023 as the deadline for disclosing the squad is on September 5 i.e. today, exactly a month before the commencement of the tournament.
BCCI chairman of selectors, Ajit Agarkar and captain Rohit Sharma unveiled the squad of men in blue comprising KL Rahul, Ishan Kishan, and Suryakumar Yadav. Sanju Samson, Yuzvendra Chahal, Prasidh Krishna, and Ravichandran Ashwin were missing from the selections.
Furthermore, India is to host the entire tournament for the first time which will be commemorated in history.
The team of India includes Rohit Sharma (Captain), Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul, Ishan Kishan, Suryakumar Yadav, Hardik Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel, Shardul Thakur, Jasprit Bumrah, Kuldeep Yadav, Mohammed Shami, Mohammed Siraj.
Captain Rohit Sharma directs the batting group, with Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer and Suryakumar Yadav, and Ishan Kishan will provide another keeping option. All-rounders Hardik Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel and Shardul Thakur have also been named in a vehemence on batting choices.
Jasprit Bumrah spearheads the bowling group, with Mohammed Shami and Mohammed Siraj probably the first-choice pace group. Kuldeep Yadav is the side’s leading spin alternative.
