According to figures released by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the number of people in the country has been confirmed for 19984. India has so far killed 640 people.

At the same time, there are attacks on health workers and vehicles in many places. This is a situation where people are attacking health workers who come for an inspection. The central government has come out strongly against this.

The government has issued an ordinance aimed at ending violence against health workers. Under this, those who attack the health workers will be punishable as unconditional offenses. Union minister Prakash Javadekar said it was “unfortunate” that health workers are trying to save the country from a pestilence.

In serious cases, the accused can be sentenced to six months to seven years and a fine of one lakh to five lakhs. This was disclosed by Prakash Javadekar after the Cabinet meeting. Consider the nature of the offense and can be sentenced to three to five years in prison. Fines can range from Rs 50,000 to Rs 2 lakh. The case should be completed within 30 days and the charge sheet filed.

The ordinance was enacted by amending the Epidemic Disease Act of 1897. The decision to impose double the market value of the vehicle is to be borne by the culprit in case of damage to the vehicles of health workers or institutions.

The Indian Medical Association has called for an emergency law to protect medical professionals from workplace violence. Many health workers were attacked by people while they were working. The Indian Medical Association has asked doctors to demonstrate a candle on Wednesday to protest such attacks.
