New Delhi: American automaker Ford Motors is suspending production in India. The manufacturers have confirmed the rumors circulating about this. The company said it had closed two manufacturing units in Sanand and Chennai in Gujarat.
Manufacturing plants are closing due to growing trade losses. The manufacturers claim that the company is not making enough profit from its operations in India.
For the last ten years, the company has been striving to move the market in the country. The operating loss to the manufacturers was $ 2 billion. The company said the only way is to look for other ways to keep business in the country.
Ford Figo, Aspire, EcoSport, Endeavor, dealers will be available as long as they have stock. These vehicles also get 9 years of legal service.
Ford was one of the first multinational automotive companies to enter the Indian market in the 1990s.
