New Delhi: The Central government has announced a pay hike to provide relief to railway employees.
Their salaries will increase this month. The government has already issued an order for this. Following the increase in the shortage of staff by the Central Government, the Ministry of Railways has issued a special directive to provide this allowance to all its zones. In this regard, the Ministry issued an order. As per the order issued by the Ministry, the famine relief will be given along with the revised rates in force.
The decision by Railways will directly benefit about 14 lakh employees and pensioners. In any case, these payments will be made by the end of this month. The Railway Board issued the order. Railway Board Deputy Director (pay commission-VII, HAMS) Jayakumar has written to all zones and production units in this regard. The letter said the arrears for railway employees would be increased from 31 per cent to 34 percent of the current base rate from January 1, 2022.
The base salary in the revised salary structure refers to the salary received at a fixed level in the pay matrix as per the recommendations of the Seventh Pay Commission approved by the Government. This does not include any other type of salary such as a special salary. All India Railways Federation General Secretary Shiv Gopal Mishra told media persons that the Dearness Allowance will be paid on April 30, 2022. Apart from this, Gopal Mishra said that the famine relief will be paid on April 30 along with the arrears.
