Private bus strike continues in the state

Thiruvananthapuram: The bus strike by private bus owners is entering its second day today. Transport Minister Antony Raju had yesterday said that the strike was an unnecessary move to raise the minimum charge to Rs 12 and the concession charge for students to Rs 6.

The trade unions are trying to make it appear that the rights were won under their pressure. This struggle is also a part of it. The strikers know that the process of raising the charge is in its final stages. But the minister had also accused the people of introspecting whether the struggle by challenging them during the exams was right. The strike was declared in November but was called off following discussions with Minister Antony Raju.
