Thrissur: The state is in the heat of summer. The Met Office said that daytime temperatures are likely in Kollam, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Thrissur, Kozhikode, and Kannur districts. The heat is rising in Thrissur too. The temperature here is similar to that of Palakkad. The temperature experienced at Thrissur Vellanikkara on Saturday afternoon was 38.6 degrees Celsius. In the evening it reached 34 degrees.
Central meteorologists say the average night temperature is over 25 degrees. Punalur in Kollam recorded 38 degrees Celsius on Saturday while Palakkad recorded 37.6 degrees Celsius. Daytime temperatures in the districts are expected to cross 36 degrees Celsius. People were advised to be vigilant.
