Moscow: YouTube has imposed a global ban on Russian government channels. The action was taken in violation of community guidelines for spreading false information about the occupation of Ukraine. YouTube announced that the regulation will take effect immediately. The regulation applies to Russian state-funded media channels, including RT and Sputnik.
RT’s main YouTube channel has over 4.5 million subscribers and Sputnik has about 3.20 million subscribers. YouTube has also announced that it has begun work to speed up control measures. Earlier, YouTube suspended funding for advertising on Russian government channels.
