New Delhi: The Central government has imposed an immediate ban on the import of drones into the country. A statement from the Ministry of Civil Aviation said the move was part of a drive to promote drones made in India.
Imports of drones for research, development, defense, and security purposes have been exempted from the ban. However, it will have to take proper permission. At the same time, the Central Government has stated that the import of drone components does not require a permit.
