Thiruvananthapuram: Four more districts have been included in the C category in the covid review meeting chaired by the Chief Minister following the spread of covid disease in the state. Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Kottayam, and Idukki districts have been included in the new C category. With this, there will be five districts in the C category. Thiruvananthapuram district was earlier included in the C category.
If more than 25 percent of the patients admitted to the hospital in Category C district are covid patients, they will be included in Category III. No social, cultural, political, religious, or community events are allowed in such districts.
Religious worship should be conducted online only. Only a maximum of 20 people will be allowed for wedding and posthumous ceremonies. Movie theaters, swimming pools, and gyms are not allowed. Online classes will be allowed for all classes (including tuition centers) except undergraduate and postgraduate final year classes and tenth and twelfth grades. This does not apply if residential educational institutions operate on a bio-bubble model.
