Thiruvananthapuram: Health Minister Veena George has said that Omicron has been confirmed for 29 more people in the state. Thiruvananthapuram 10, Alappuzha seven, Thrissur six, and Malappuram six were confirmed by Omicron. Of these, 25 came from low-risk countries and two from high-risk countries. Two people were infected with Omicron through contact. Two people in Alappuzha were infected with Omicron through contact.
In Thiruvananthapuram, nine were from the UAE and one from Qatar. Three were from Alappuzha in the UAE, two from the UK, three in Canada from Thrissur, two from the UAE, one from East Africa, and six in Malappuram from the UAE.
With this, Omikron has been confirmed for a total of 181 people in the state. A total of 52 came from high-risk countries and 109 from low-risk countries. A total of 20 people were infected through contact. So far, 42 people who were being treated for Omicron have been discharged, officials said.
