New Delhi: The Central government has banned money chain marketing and multi-layer network marketing across the country.
The Union Ministry of Consumer Foods has issued a notification banning multilayer network marketing and money chain marketing. The new order will take effect within 90 days. The central government has banned people from engaging in multi-layered, multi-layered, money-chain modeling as part of direct selling marketing.
The law applies to companies like Amway, which operates in the country. The Central Government has also banned money chain schemes under Section 2 of the Prohibition of Price Cheats and Money Circulation Scheme Act. Companies often operate as a pyramid scheme, a multilayered network that connects people first, then upstairs, then downstairs. Such practices are prohibited. The government has also come up with a new definition of legal direct selling in India.

The seller must also disclose the name of the company selling directly, the address of the place, the nature of the goods or services being sold, and the purpose of the sale. The seller should inform the customer of accurate and complete information, display of goods and services, prices, credit terms, payment terms, return, exchange, refund policy, return policy, warranty terms, and after-sales service.
